Phil was a pro and so nice to my family.  We moved homes and before the move he made sure our kitchen was in excellent condition and big items on the walls were removed properly. So glad I found Phil - not only was her professional, but he did a damn good job removing my cabinets, tiling my backsplash, and getting my floating shelves up on the walls. Phil genuinely loves what he does and his quality of work really shines through because of it! He provides a service unlike any other handyman we’ve experienced. I highly recommend Phil! We needed a door installed on our condo and we had the slab only but needed the boring for lockset and carving for the hinges. Phill was great! He spent the day assembling a bed, mounting tv’s, mounting some wall shelves,  mounted a Sonos sound bar , and curtain tracks. When I originally called I figured it would be 24-48 hours before he returned my call but to my surprise he called me within just a few hours. He was on time and great at communicating. I highly recommend Phil and his handyman service. Phil helped us install a sprinkler drip system and was so thorough, communicative, friendly, and punctual. He also made sure I was familiar with the settings on the timers and was patient with all my questions. Phil clearly communicated his availability, his timing the day of, the options he would suggest for our railing repair and his estimate, and stayed on track on all fronts. My  big, heavy storm patio door was not shutting and latching, causing a big draft.  Phil came and spent several hours adjusting the door, which was out of alignment due to the building settling over 15 years.  Has a great seal now, and I'm very happy with it.  Phil explained where in the door's latches he had to create the adjustments both up and down, and back and forth, and tested it several times before he was satisfied.  A door company was going to send two people out to do it and charge me almost twice as much.  Phil also quickly fixed a broken toilet handle while he was here!  Great service, great value, friendly. Phil refinished our cedar deck. He works incredibly hard, is thorough and honest. He lets you know when he’s going to arrive and arrives on time prepared to work. He pays attention to details and offers good suggestions. In the end, through a combination of rushing to beat the rain and my  own lack of clear instruction about the particular stain I wanted him to use, the deck didn’t turn out as well as either of us hoped. He offered to not charge me which seemed just too unfair to him given how hard he worked and the fact that the deck,, while not perfect, Looks much better.   I suggested instead and he agreed  to a discount for refinishing the deck next year when I use him again. Phil is a genuinely honest, hard working guy who I look forward to working with  in the future. Update to the original review. We are six weeks into enjoying our deck and I have to say, it feels like a new deck. Phil sanded every inch of it and knocked in every single nail and you can really tell the difference.  The surface is smooth and the boards are tight. Before hiring Phil, we were considering replacing the deck With composite. We are so happy to have found Phil! I was a house painter for 30 years, 18 of which I ran my own business. Now retired, I fancied myself quite the handy man! What that means is “I never got any projects actually done.” Phil has saved me and completed somethings that had been lingering for a few years. Phil’s the best. He takes pride in his work and is thoughtful and professional in his choices of how best to serve the requirements of the job. He did several things for me, from repairing broken antiques to measuring, cutting, mounting, and grouting tiles, and other things in between. Everything was meticulously and beautifully done and showed his true investment in doing the best work possible. He is also very nice and trustworthy, prompt and communicative. Phil did excellent work re-staining our deck. It was peeling and in very rough shape before he showed up. After 4 days of his diligent scraping, sanding, filling and staining, it looks brand new!
